We are all getting excited about this spring as work by contractors BCE Northern progresses and our community garden starts to take shape. We hope that the garden will be ready for its oficial opening some time in March. Other good news is that we have been awarded £4000 by the LEAF fund towards costs for plants, tools, a composter and beekeeping training.
This means that we will have money to start buying seeds, plants and tools ready for the gardens launch. It also means that we can run a series of introductory bee and beekeeping sessions this spring with some mentoring of volunteers responsible for maintaining our hives.
The first introductory beekeeping session is on the 15th January at Bedes Bakehouse.
